B&W Black & White, monotone and sepia

Because it is too easy to use it to excess. There are too many HDR shots out there that want to make my eyes bleed.

This is typically how I feel about it. The images I see have such an even tone to them that there is no contrast to me to make the image interesting or its done so far beyond what even we can see with our own eyes that the image looks fake. I think this is a fabulous job of doing it right in this image, even though I'd prefer a little more pop to the rocks.

A reminder of Summer (in the northern hemisphere)

I thought I'd spend some time this evening working on this "shot to nothing" taken from above my village which lies down near the trees centre foreground. In the distance is the port of Salcombe and the headland is Bolt Head. It's a view I see most mornings as I take my blood pressure lowering walk, only it's a rather bleaker view at the moment.
This was processed to replicate Ilford FP4 film developed normally and printed on a normal grade paper, just a regular unremarkable shot really, but a pleasant little exercise.

Thanks so much for posting this one here, Christina, you already know how much I love this picture. It's such a story. It is my favorite ever of yours.:bravo-009:

I wonder if in part that it is the size which you've posted it here - on Flickr you'd have to go to View All Sizes?
