Thanks Ray. Your shot reminded me of an apartment I use to rent on Staten Island many moons ago.

National Harbor is in Prince Georges County, Maryland just south of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. A big developer built a massive convention center and the shops, restaurants, hotels, and living space are filling in now albeit slowly due to the economy. I hadn't been there for a year and was amazed at how much more has filled in. It was completely undeveloped swampy shoreline before the development. They did a decent job of making it user friendly by car, water taxi, and also via existing bike paths to include the bike/pedestrian walkway on the Woodrow Wilson Bridge.

National Harbor

The Awakening Statute use to be in Hains Point in DC on loan for a number of years until the owner pulled it back and sold it to the National Harbor developer for $750k.

I'm with Ray on really liking the perspective of your first picture - but I appreciate seeing this sculpture in situ via your second. Both are rather scary, actually - though my thoughts are probably influenced by recent earthquake events.

Ray, I am laughing...those electric boxes are probably very good friends and good listeners, too.:D
