Panasonic Shooter's observations on the LX5 (no, not another techie review)

The camera has passed everything I could run it thru.
It passes the LX3 in every area. The grip is working better. The interface is improved especially with the mode selectors replacing the joystick. Joystick, no joy in that.
The AF is the biggest improvement. In low light it does not hunt but locks quickly.
So, not that it means anything, it meets or exceeds my expectations.
It's the perfect carry all camera.

I'll end this by saying. I'm a real serious photographer. I GROK photography. I always did.
I post with humor as I won't take myself too serious. When one starts to be that serious, the joy in life disappears. I won't do that.
Take anything I say with a grain of salt but remember....
In the end, it's your journey. We can share images, knowledge, etc but with me...expect a sense humor cause I love Life and I love photographing it.
I hope some of you share those feelings...
End!

I could not agree more. Well said!

Is there a way to turn off the rear LCD? It bugs to see it on all the time. I had it off in my G9 and G10 for street shooting.

Rec Menu page 6 - set optical viewfinder to ON

Not sure it's of much use to you though because when you then take a picture the LCD comes back on and shows you a preview and then you have to half press the shutter to get it to turn off again.
