Amphibious Bistort

A rather unusual plant, here it's growing in about 3 feet of water, but it's also capable of growing on dry land and some distance from water.

I just looked out of the window and saw this, so I nipped outside between the blustery showers and got this photograph.
Unless Brenda my botanist friend says otherwise, I'm going with Corn-cockle
