Take care and be safe those in the UK

I hate to be the Moderator here, but if political discussion continues I'll have to close this thread - that means discussions referencing whether it's a socialist or multicultural cause or anything else. I'm sorry you all but we can't continue along these lines. Please review all of this site's guidelines Terms and rules and abide by them.

I realize that there are strong feelings but we can't use Serious Compacts as a discussion forum for this kind of thing - no matter what country we are talking about. We are a multicultural forum and our members are from many walks of life and backgrounds.

I am not going to post about this again and probably should close the thread now, but I'm going to give it one more chance.

I've been busy looking after some American visitors and have just started catching up with the news. I'm disgusted by the behaviour of the young people involved. I'm not going to chip in where I would attribute the blame - this is not that sort of forum and it would be divisive and offensive to do so. I do however echo the spirit in which the thread was started - heaven help anybody who happens to live in these areas.

I didn't realise I possessed knowledge of so many swear words but certainly a lot of colourful words popped into my head (and out of my mouth) when I watched footage of the riots on the television.

I take heart in the actions of the communities that are uniting to clean up the mess. I would rather highlight their actions rather than those who sought to cause destruction and despair to their very own communities.

Well done to the Riot Wombles, Great Uncle Bulgaria would be proud!

A point of interest the London Sony distribution warehouse was badly affected by the riots so anybody wishing/thinking of buying one of there products may have a wait until stocks can be replenished.
