Wow, Spode you've got some graffiti artists with some heavy duty tools at their disposal!

Graffiti is such an interesting and ever changing form of expression often it incurs anger by those who feel it is despoiling things, and other times it can certainly improve a neighborhood, a venue and even inspire. However, it's easy to say all this when one doesn't have to look out one's window every day see "it".

Nice shots!

Thanks Wylie.

There's a whole graffiti "town" down thr road from my office in Long Island City. Whole buildings, streets, pavements, walls etc. covered in some pretty exotic colours and images.

So in this instance, the artists are not damaging any public property. Just giving some empty shells a face lift.:D

your shots really showcase some fantastic graf art!

there is a park near where I live that has some old abandoned buildings somewhere deep in the forest, all covered in graffiti...i have not been there yet but i've seen pics posted by the artists themselves - they're a little fidgety about revealing the location for obvious reasons, but they've seen some of my pics of their work so they've given a few hints for me to work from-- gonna do a little more exploring later this year ;)

Thanks Wylie.

Pretty good idea, gives them a place to express their creativity without damaging property.

It is amazing some of the talent you see in these "artists."

Much appreciated, Spode...aha, Long Island City...the home of Silver Cup Studios among many other interesting spots: NFT - Not For Tourists - New York - Long Island City / Hunter's Point I used to take my daughter over there to buy her pointe shoes at Freed of London.

If you ever decide to host your photos somewhere like Flickr, etc., please let me know, spode. I'd love to see more.

I think it should have been. I would have voted for it. It is splendid

... anyhoo ... I think I've realised that taking pictures of graffiti is my version of street work (as I can't bring myself to point my camera at strangers, I record their leavings instead ...)

Apologies of a sort for those of a delicate constitution, but the incongruity of this was striking ... although it may be a rather nice visual pun of course ("Buriden's ass")

Not graffiti, but on the same block as the street art and graffiti, and something I really like:
