Yes, it was a nice trip. I still need to work on photos from Cape Cod and Adirondacks.

Very eerie, Paul - a little flash, perhaps, on someone's nest?

Not a nest at all, though it does look like it doesn't it?
You occasionally see this sort of thing in oaks, I suspect it's caused by some sort of damage or maybe a virus causing these odd growths - there were a few on this particular tree.
And yes - a tad of flash, something I never normally use, but just the effect I wanted ...
