What will your next (photographic) purchase be?

Because of missing it too much while walking in dark forests, especially when I take macro shots near to the ground, I will buy a small table top tripod. I am very sure about this.

Today I have bought a Gorillapod (SLR Zoom) and a Manfrotto ball head 492. This set is very light and I am looking forward to using it during my photo walks.

Just bought another Signed Winogrand book.
Geeze, a real book y'all not no digibook.
I have every book ever published about Gary including the College Editions.
Do I need more... He'll yeah...I'm a book addict.

Got my tripod. Now I'm going to declare my slippery slope. My next photo purchase will either be a Leica M8.2 or an M9.

Tripod was mostly for better pictures for the (fountain) pen sell-off that will fund that.

Just bought Nik Silver Efex. Any tips on how to get the most out of it will be very welcome.

Regards,

Antonio

Just get onto youtube and their own site as there are plenty of tutorials on there. I find it best just to pick a preset on the left then play with the settings/sliders until I find something I like Don't forget to try the built in filters.

My next purchase will either be the Canon s95, Panasonic LX5 or may look at the Sigma DP2 as many say the images from it are superb! I do miss having a small compact to take with me when taking a DSLR or GF1 is not possible. I'm also still waiting for more info on the GF2 and Fuji X100, Both I think will be brilliant!

Getting back to next purchases, I've been looking at L39-mount lenses.

I now have a 50mm Leica screw mount lens from 1952. It needs some help, but I'll send it off to Sherry after I take some test shots with it.

I also bought a Leica M8 for it to go on. There were several reasons I wanted to wait until next year for an M9. For one, I could afford more lenses.

Also picked up a Voigtlander 28mm lens for it (also screw mount) and adapters for the screw-M and screw-µ4/3.

Given the general disappointment over the GF2 and concerns about the way m4/3 might be heading (smaller cameras becoming like computers with lenses attached) then it might be the Fuji X100 (lots of legacy lenses for sale then) or, if I'm really flush, a Leica to make use of the voigtlander lens collection I've built up for my current GF1 and G1, let's hope m4/3 wasn't the dead end some predicted when it was first announced. It will become a dead end for me if newer models are going to be dumbed down.

My next photographic purchase SHOULD be a Leica - to dispel my desires or disappoint me (for ever)

an M9 if I want to go the whole hog and be mega pleased (or disappointed)

a used M8 to keep my bank balance in order and drive me towards thinking that "I've missed out" and should have got an M9

(but then the "review" of my RF lens would come into play and until I bought a 35mm cron I would always feel that I have something missing)

so that's £8,000 (maybe $15,000), for the M9/Cron combo

These internet forums are great - it's so easy sat behind a screen and "dream"

(PS - the D700 is marvellous and the new D7000 is supposed to be fantastic!)

To be honest, since I have had my µ4/3 gear at service for months now, much longer than I could take photos with it, and since a body came back from service with a new defect, µ4/3 is most probably a dead end for me. I will use the gear I have, but I don't enjoy it anymore. It happens, that I prefer my Canon PowerShot G12 even to the peaces of µ4/3 gear which works now after being at service for the most part of the time since I've bought it.

Having just sold 2 cameras for very fair prices one cam: I'd had for almost 3years and the other for only 8mths, I have decided to buy the Canon S95 after reading about both S95 and the LX5 I chose the former because must stop spending any more money;)
To be honest I found it very difficult deciding which from the pics I've seen but thought a truly pocket camera would suit me best.

This sounds so much like the thought processes in my head since the beginning of October!

Well I'll definitely be getting me one of them Fuji x100's :cloud-9-039: Just not sure if it will strictly be my "next" purchase. With an anticipated release in Australia of May 2011, I can't see me being patient enough to wait it out :drama:....I'll still get one - and probably on pre-order - but while I wait I think I'd like to try my hand at a DP2s and/or DP1x. I'm thinking that might occupy my idle hands for another six months....SIX WHOLE MONTHS ...now where's that "torture" emoticon
