Sigma Sigma DP Series Image Thread

I shoot RAW and process general color, exposure settings in SPP. Then I export to a JPG for less important images, or 16-bit TIFF if I want extra quality. Then, I import into Lightroom and finish touching up. For serious clone-work or merging, I use Photoshop.

I use SPP5.1, and I like it better than 4.2, but I agree it is pretty painful to use. It's more annoying to go through SPP, but I like the results better than Lightroom's RAW conversion.

having a DP2 and DP1s for about 2 years now I have to say they can be very rewarding (and sometimes very frustrating :) ). I'm definitely glad I got them! (back then the first rumors came up that Nikons mirrorless was "just around the corner". Happy I didn't wait for that :)

I did just pick up a bargain NX100 and the 30mm should be in the mail today. Hoping that the NX100 could be a bit quicker and more versatile. But I do suspect that I will never be able to let go of those "special" Sigma image qualities :)

cheers,
Tilman

Tilman, thank you so much for coming on and adding these photographs. There's something so extra special about the photographs I see by experienced DP photographers...the quality and colors are so rich. I'm completely smitten by your first "family" portrait! I hope you'll become more involved across the board, as well.

Thank you pictogramax! I thought that atmosphere was very appropriate for the year "getting old"...

(also the Sigma DP's are very good for that... with a little help from SilverEfex... )

cheers,
Tilman

I love the DP's foevon colors! I've never had one of these cameras but I can imagine how rewarding they are once you get the hang of them.

Beautiful images and each with their own distinct merits.
