Fuji Fuji X10 Sample Images

Yes. For some reason, Smugmug won't let me make image files so I have to send a copy to photobucket:

One last walk before Christmas Kicks off.
It's so dark these days and sadly no snow. Last year we had tons of the stuff and it made for a great christmas with sledging and snowballing.

Time to switch off the computer and get down to the real business of the day.
Merry Christmas

Here you go, from my afternoon dog walk.

This is a recreational park right that I usually walk through everyday...on weekends, in the right season, the fields are covered with soccer players...from little kids practicing their kicks and passing, with parents coaching and/or on the sidelines with their drinks and dogs...or teams playing... With all the rain we've had the fields are closed and the caution tape is an attempt to keep people off...so that they can recover. There's something about the view with the sign and "caution" tape lines that has really been calling out to me. I really needed a wider lens than my X100's, so now that I have its younger sibling, I felt that I was able to translate what my eyes saw.

A few more of them today. I experimented with super macro mode today. EXR mode. I noticed that my shots were slightly over exposed, so I had to tone them down a little. I did sharpen and noise reduce on some.

I am simply amazed at this camera's capabilities. I just turned the dial to EXR and yelled smile without any composition or thought to taking a photo. I find the result impressive. See the pic of my wife and oldest son below. I do have a question. I find myself having to sharpen my photos quite a bit in Lightroom to get them to pop a little. I will usually bump sharpening 30-50 to get the image a little sharper. I guess I am used to my D70 larger sensor. Even in this photo, I would like the eyes to be a bit sharper than they are. Are you finding the x10 to be a little soft in the image output?

drd, that's a great "under the tree" on Christmas morning image - I also really like those trucks!

Bob, beautiful - that would have been a perfect entry for the WC, though you're Santa Claus worn out from all his travels was already an excellent one.;) In this your soft focus, grain and black and white tones give it a wonderful nostalgic feeling, to me.

dbarnett, I haven't noticed the need to do super sharpening... I did take quite a few yesterday of a friend's granddaughter (14 months) and I used Program mode...I'll have to go back and double check. Your photograph of your wife and son looks really perfect to me. I am sure that comparing the X10's output to your D700 will be different - but I can't compare... I think you are right to be extremely pleased!
