Karen, it's great to see Hannah getting ready with her Advent calendar. Oh, I miss the younger years of excitement and wonder with my daughter...sniff, sniff...

Peter, she just doesn't have that holiday warmth going does she?:D

Peter, great shot! Being from the northeast, I'm always "shocked" by seeing Christmas in warmer southern climes - silly, I know. It's good to know that there are over the top, Christmas light decorators Down Under!:D I like the evening light here. For me, there is a kind of scifi feel...as though the big spaceship will be coming to hover over them very soon.;)

Penny, you've captured a wistful moment - an empty chair...and then we see the lone shopper wandering through in the back left. Looking again, I see there is a mirrored ceiling! You've taken a typical sort of holiday mall scene and shown it quite differently!

The first (not entirely commercial) sign of the holidays around here is the annual holiday parade, in which many thousands of people descend on our little borough from the surrounding area, choke traffic for hours and then watch a bunch of dignitaries and marching bands follow Santa around town. I love it - just have to walk two blocks and I'm in the middle of it all. Here are a few shots from last night's version:

Ray, thank you! My particular favorite is your third. I love that little boy in his straw hat who is clearly smart enough to wear something warmer underneath - and I agree, he is not thrilled to be there:D

Are we in Westchester, PA?

Thanks Antonio and BBW. Yeah, I like the 3rd one too - it took the longest to filter through to me out of the whole bunch I took, but its growing and growing on me. As is the second, but to a lesser extent. And, yes its West Chester (two words), PA, which is a borough/town, not a county like Westchester (one word) up in your neck of the woods. Its an easy shot to Philly but its a place all its own too.
