Wow! I go "away" for what 24 hours and come back to these beautiful images! What a wonderfully beautiful world we live in when nature is at her best. Excellent work. Such different feelings evoked by each, as well. Really stunning photographs you guys. It's too early, lucky for you, for me to wax poetic but boy I love each one.
Looking back through my sunrise shots I came across this one which is one of my recent favourites, due in part that it has been taken by the most unlikely of lenses I would use for a sunrise, the Voigtlander 25mm f/0.95 on my Olympus E-P1.
Peter, I'm in love. When is your book coming out?! Seriously - a stunning view, the softness and light, the frozen in time details... Sigh. I want to be there.
It was a magic morning. The previous time I was at that spot it was raining and miserable, and covered with the bodies of stinging jellyfish known as blue bottles (known in other places as the Portuguese Man o' War).
I was just thinking about a cyber book of photos. I don't have an iPad, but I'm sure it would ideal for something like this. Let's see.... "Dear Santa Claus..." View attachment 31370
A nice sunrise this morning but quite difficult to shoot from some angles from where I was as the sun came up at the edge of dark clouds to the north and little to the south.
These photos are taken from a small beach between Cronulla Beach and Shelly Park Beach (Sydney beaches).
The first shot is this sequence starts before "first light" and the last one after sunrise.
All photos taken with a Nikon D90 and Nikkor 10-24mm zoom.
