Wowzers! I go away for a few days and find out all that I've missed! What wonderfully diverse and exciting pictures in this thread!:drinks:

Not only do we all see things differently, but I'm also enjoying the wide array of subjects as well as the styles of post processing. I'm so proud of everyone's pictures.

One of my first shots with the X100, grabbed this very quickly when flying into SeaTac a few weeks ago, then converted to B/W in Color Efex Pro.
Jim, that's a heck of a first post here on Serious Compacts! Please, when you can, stop by the Welcomes and Introductions forum for an "official" unofficial hello. That is one incredible view - great black and white via Color Efex, too.(y)

Taken this afternoon while we were walking around surveying just a bit of the damage before the wild winds picked up again. This is the entrance to our town's high school football field.

Nice shot Sue. So does she feel nice in hand or what?

If it's any consolation it's still wintery cold down here near Canberra....be nice to have a summer, we had only 4 days over 30 degrees last year!

Thanks, Mark, Yes, it feels really good in the hand. Like I remember my old rangefinder. comfortable, solid, not too big, OK to wear on a strap round your neck because there's nothing protruding, not too heavy. Love it. Can't wait for the A&A strap to arrive, I think it will be more comfy than the provided one.

Sue, now you are feeding my jealousies... I've been living vicariously through Peter's ocean bath photographs and sighing with desire....and now you've added your view! What an incredible place to swim!

I'm so glad you're feeling at home with your new camera!

Awesome shot BB. This one really feels sort of like "street" to me, although its of your family and clearly far from any street of consequence. Something about the arrangement of the people, particularly your daughter sort of off to herself looking in a totally different direction, that gives this a really cool and mysterious feel. And the furniture, all of it VERY present, but none being used in the prescribed manner... Possibly my favorite of your people shots, at least other than the pure portraits which can be pretty brilliant in a completely different way...
