Fuji Fuji X10 Sample Images

Very nice and yes, please more info - including what you think about the camera, JH.

I see this portrait was taken at 1/125th of a second at f/5.6 ISO 100 with no EV compensation at 20 mm, and it looks as though you exposed it Manually from the EXIF data on Flickr.

Inquiring minds are on a need to know basis, JH.:hail:

Rats ... the image quality from the X10 look good. That's not good for the wallet ...

Stay tuned to this blog by Brandon Reimer Thoughts From My Camera: Fujifilm X10 Camera @ 10FPS. So far there's not much there, but no doubt about it that there will be plenty to come.

* As of this morning, he has some jpegs up but has noted that all are from a preproduction model. He is expecting to have the real thing today.:dash2:

X10 Sample

Good morning,
BBW says there is exif data on Flickr.
This may help too: Adobe RGB
Manual Exposure
ISO 100 f5.6@ 1/125
Custom White Balance.
I usually use three lights and did for this photograph.
As for handling. The X10 fits with the M9 mindset.
I thinks it's becoming a friend.
Although a second battery would keep the friend awake longer.
It's quite solid and the on/off on the lens is great.
The focus is quick and accurate, the optical viewfinder nice but could use exposure/focus info. It will be nice on the street.
The EXR mode seems to help with shadows but I need to look closer.
I haven't pushed the low light capabilities as yet either.
It usually takes me about 1000 exposures to get to know a camera.
So, there will be more.
Keep Eager.

X10

Good afternoon.
Don't mean to take up so much real estate here but had some
additional comments after shooting this morning.
Had the camera out in a steady rain storm.
It did fine with reasonable precaution (kept in inside the Barbour).
Fit and finish are top drawer, The control dials are firm and stay put.
The menus are fairly intuitive.
The lens cap slips on very snugly.
The clip on cap from the DLux4/5 clips on too and stays put.
I like the option of "film simulation" as I always preferred Fuji's NPH400 and their Astia.
Velvia and Provia are there too as options.
Cheers.

X10

Hello.
Ah, the manual zoom.
I especially like the on/off component.
I like the 35mm focal length references engraved on the barrel.
It's a positive click to 28 and on then a smooth and stepless transition to the other settings.
A curiuos discovery is that some where around 85 I can shoot with both eyes open. The frame "floats", like the old M3.
More later.

Lot's of details, nice colors, but I'm not too impressed by the out of focus rendering of the lens as well as the harsh transition from in-versus out of focus area. I think the XZ-1 does a better job bokeh wise. A direct comparison would be interesting.

Thanks Ray! Did your X10 arrive yet? :)

I went ahead and pre-ordered one from Amazon, via our affiliate link of course!

Yeah, I got it. We're on the Amtrac to NYC right now, and I didn't get a chance to charge a battery before we left, but Amtrak has outlets on the train, so it's charging as I type and as we pull into Newark. It'll probably be tonight or tomorrow morning before I get a chance to really play with it.

I knew it wouldn't take you long. I was surprised to find the same about myself, but probably nobody else was. :D

I was interested in the X10, but I'm just not sure that it would be a solid improvement over the XZ-1, which is slightly smaller and outstanding in RAW. I, too, am interested in seeing these two compared. I noticed a comment on DPR that the XZ-1 is perhaps sharper.
