Show "Reflections"

Wow - Will, I love the contrast, wetness and colors!

I've just realized that I've missed a whole bunch of really good pictures on this thread - mea culpa! Good stuff on these pages!

So I just picked up my new used e-pl2 ... AND Trekpod, which is a monopod that can convert to a tripod. I want to explore some low light photography but I'm not keen on lugging a tripod around. The monopod is light and inconspicuous and looks like it will suit my needs. Long story short, here's my first night shot.

Kevin, I was going to joke with you about being the new Night Stalker in the Vancouver area, but how can I when I see a picture like this? Beautiful!! You and Peter could easily populate a long exposure thread together. Speaking of which - please feel free to start a thread on low light photography. I know that there are quite a few of us who would love to see more - and add to it.

BB - thanks for planting the Nightstalker thought in my head. Shooting at night is very lonely and tonight all the strange sounds made me twitch thinking of stalkers and the like .. yikes!

Here's night shot #2 - The blowout on the gazebo light is very distracting ... I can see there is a LOT to learn about night photography. I hope you will bear with me as I bumble my way along :)

Kevin, this is the Night Stalker I was thinking of: Kolchak: The Night Stalker TV Series with Darren McGavin as the intrepid reporter, granted he seems to have a knack for the supernatural. I feel sure that you won't be too crazy about going out and about in that world. That "blowout" aside, there is a deep tranquility about this scene that I find very restful.

Agreed about Paul's photo - very thought provoking and dreamlike!:2thumbs:
