Fuji New X10 review from Digital Rev video

I agree BBW, the reviews are getting worse and worse, they try to make them funny or something and what's with the stupid ones with the models? I know some people like it but I'm there for the camera/lens review, not some half funny or smart arse video. Used to like their stuff a lot but lately I hardly bother after a min of it.

I've noticed the same thing, he seems to be getting a little to full of himself for his own good. It would have been nice to actuallty have learnt something new about the camera after 11mins.

Glad to know I'm not alone. The more I think about it the more I really wonder what the point of that one was. I hope he hasn't gone around the bend, so to speak.

I also agree that he has lost the plot a little. He spent more time faffing about getting wet than reviewing the camera. Shame really. At least we now know that it is a great camera!!

As big of a Kai fan that I am, I must admit the X10 review was lacking. Barely discussed the camera itself and provided very few sample photos unlike other prior reviews. I also really don't care for the four letter words being uttered a dozen or so times. I'm all for being funny, but foul language is quite unprofessional in my opinion. Hoping the next review will make a nice comeback.

To be honest, I really like DigitalRev's reviews. I don't really look at them as reviews and I don't think others should, either. The mission is a bit different and the focus of cameras sometimes is a bit unclear and incidental, but it's still fun to watch Kai and his antics. He's got a good camera personality and like anything else, it's good youtube entertainment. The other review in the DigRev style was quite good also.

I agree, snake. Not that I've seen all of Kai's reviews but usually I do enjoy them - however, the one he did recently of the X10 was really not up to par. None of us is going to "do it right" every time, that's for sure. I "shutter" to think what any review I'd do would be like!

Yeah, the x10 wasn't so much a review, but entertaining, nonetheless. I'm guessing that it's not the whole thing and maybe an unsaid preparation, or "preview". To be honest, his reviews aren't exceedingly technically detailed and more so focus on the shooting experience and some examples of the output, rather than going into pixel-peeping minutia. To a large extent, he could be right with this approach and this latest video was no exception, focusing more on the "fun" aspect of the X10.

I tend to like Kai also, a good mix of enough information about the gear and some entertainment value as well. But this X10 review was terrible, IMHO, also. Not much about the camera and not very funny or entertaining either. He seemed like he was forcing the comedy and trying to get it over by laughing harder the worse the jokes were. I frankly found myself cringing a bit during it. Hopefully it was a bad day. But for an amateur comedian, the pressure of trying to be funny ALL the time, even when he's not feeling it, might just be getting to him. As someone who was a bit of a cut-up in the various offices I worked in during my career, there were PLENTY of days you just didn't bring the funny with you to work and, fortunately, it didn't matter, so if I wasn't feeling funny, I just wouldn't try to be. If you somehow think your job depends on being funny, but you're not enough of a pro to bring it every day, those off days could be excruciating. That X10 video was pretty excruciating to watch, I thought. The expectation that he has to be funny is probably enormously counter-productive.
