Which waterproof compact camera can be called (most) serious?

JoepLX3, I recommend the Lumix TS2 as a rugged all weather cam, that just happens to be waterproof too. A family member has one and loves it!

Robert, keep all the Nikon glass just in case you decide to go the micro four thirds route. You can use all old and new lenses from all manufacturers with adapters.

Micro 4/3 Macro lens for m4/3

I'm using the Lumix 45mm 2.8 macro on the GF1. On the EP2, I have a 50mm f2 Oly 4/3 macro (which I got at a great price) attached with an adapter. Both are great lenses! My pics are all tagged on Flickr by lenses, so if you want to see results, please take a look. BTW, the 4/3 Oly macro...

Sony How is Auto ISO implemented on the NEX bodies?

I also share Amin's frustration at the 1/30 second speed, but have developed a work-around and by under-exposing am able to get 1/60 or faster. I would of course prefer to have the choice of being able to set nothing slower than 1/60 or 1/100 in camera (similar to Nikon's custom setting).

Panasonic GF2 14-18MP weather-sealed with a tilt-swivel screen, improved low light capability with higher dynamic range. A range of low light lenses (1.4 and 1.2). Battery grip for added speed. We're not alone then - or are we? (M43)

I'm the only one among my friends who's either a Loomy Goofy or Oly Epi. Everyone has dSLRs. Most people that stop me have never heard of M43. Japan will always champion smaller cameras. Miniaturization is an art form there, most often out of necessity. There is just so little room there.

Which aspect ratio you shoot and why ?

There's something exciting about 16x9 and it works really well for pipe band pics, fire apparatus and police cars. 4x3 is just too narrow for these subjects. But, I will often switch to 4x3 for subjects that don't need length/width.

    A Wish for Simplicity

All I need is SAM (will use A 95% of the time), exposure compensation, dialable kelvin and spot metering for controls (easily accesible, not buried in some menu system), since I ignore most everything else. I have no need for different colour settings, fancy, yet soon dated in-camera filters, no...

    Fisheye Video

Love the train, but why on earth a fisheye and not a low light lens? And wasn't the 14mm supposed to be a 1.4 or 1.8? Panasonic, please listen to us and give us a 1.4!!

    Pentax Pentax K-7 vs mu43?

You will be very pleased with the GF1/20mm for museum pictures and with a polarizer for outdoor shots. I use the 20mm and 45mm extensively in museums (one of the reasons I would prefer the 45mm/2.8 to be a 2.0 or lower). I'm a low light/ambient light shooter, so I rarely use flash. I often crank...

    Pentax Pentax K-7 vs mu43?

I have both the GF1 and K7, but have never done a side by side comparison of IQ using comparable lenses (don't have comparable lenses). I bought the K7 mainly for its weather resistance to use in rain and snow, as the GF1 was not too happy when I took it out in sub-zero temperatures. I had the...
