Sony Pictures of Fire Spinning. Questions now, photos later.

We do fire spinning every week. We always love it when photographers stop by. I could probably find you a few in Scotland. The only rule we have for photographers is "ask first". We're pretty serious about it. If you absolutely cant ask first, pretty please ask after. I have a group of people...

Sony Pictures of Fire Spinning. Questions now, photos later.

Didn't want to hype anyone up too soon with a title just "Pictures" with no pictures inside. I meant to bring my camera with me to the spin practice on Thursday, but forgot it. So we'll have to wait until next thursday... Meanwhile, I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for how to best...

    Sony Showcase Rx100 images

So I've been trying to get the hang of my RX100.... and so far I HATE shooting over 400. It just makes me sad. But last night I went out and did some long exposures at ISO80. And waited til morning.... She waits... by CoreyZev, on Flickr The sun rises by CoreyZev, on Flickr...

Sony I can't stop using Sony's "picture effects" (share yours, too!)

Alright... they're fun. Got my camera in the mail posted "ITS HERE!" on facebook, and someone asked for proof. Watercolors are beautiful....

Fuji Your thoughts on VIEWING street shots: from the hip or eye level?

And not all street photography done in that manner is so haphazard as you suggest. This was back in 2007, when I was a teenager in Photo 101, but I dont think I was clicking off at random. Pretty sure I only took home one or two dozen exposures. - - I wonder if I still have those...

    Smartphone Cell Phone Camera photos

Do not underestimate in phone HDR.... I took more than a handful of photos inside Howe Caverns... a few hundred feet underground. Boy do I wish I had a serious compact w/ exposure control then. Even not at night, pretty much guarantees a somewhat decent exposure. ymmv also another Niagra shot:

    Fuji XF1 SOOC JPEG samples

I'll try to use these to compare: The XF1 The RX100 The top image is the first extreme use of bokeh I had seen on the XF1, a lot of the pictures in this thread arent quite as harsh as this though. I wonder what the difference could be. And apparently I just read that the...

Fuji Your thoughts on VIEWING street shots: from the hip or eye level?

All following comments are simply imho, in my humble opinion. Personally, I don't think I've ever noticed my self preferring one or the other. I did a quick search to see if I had any kind of preference after all, and I really think it's going to consistently be about the composition of the...

    Future photographers

Kids with cameras are the best. Makes me happy to see, both cause of the huge camera tiny hand/face, and also just to see these younguns working with analogue tools. (disclaimer: I'm only 25).

    Sony Showcase Rx100 images

This is very much the type of pictures I plan to be taking when I get my RX100.... so I'm pleased to see you doing it already. I like what you're doing. we also seem to be sharing a city.

    Fuji XF1 SOOC JPEG samples

I'm a guy, and I love the concept of this camera, basically everything about it. It was at the top of my list for a few minutes, but I had one issue with it.... The bokeh seems REALLY processed to me, and kind of jarring. I realize it's mostly the lens, and there's not much processing which...

Sony I can't stop using Sony's "picture effects" (share yours, too!)

I think for these situations.... I'm just going to get an Eye-Fi card and send the "raw" to my phone, edit it with snapseed, and then send it where it needs to go. I love the idea of the filters, for spurring creativity, and I haven't played w/ the RX100's yet. But I tend to avoid them. I...

    Smartphone Cell Phone Camera photos

In this post, lots of photos from a Motorola Atrix HD. None of which have been edited outside the phone itself. Hopefully it's not too many photos. I think I got carried away. --- Instagram 1: Ignore the cheesy caption if you can, but this was entirely processed on my Motorola smartphone...

    Steampunk Cathedral

For a second I was hoping this to be in Providence from this weekend. There were a few conventions happening. One was steampunk themed. (The others were HP Lovecraft & Rocky Horror). But this is still amazing. Interesting perspectives.

Nikon [Image] The camera was a gift, but I make it work.... Coolpix S205

As they say, it's the photographer, not the camera. I made good use of it while I could. Definitely easier to keep in my pocket than my D80. Planning to upgrade to a 1" sensor compact soon.

    Sony Fenway Pahk

Panoramas at fenway usually work out for the better... but this shot is really great. A lot of the sliding panorama photos I've seen lately seem to end up with a bit of an HDR effect in the sky. But a light one, so it's fantastic. @wt21.... we should have a Boston RX100 meetup.

Sony I tried zone focusing. It worked.

This thread is great, and the one you linked to in the original post is going to be useful. I'm planning on buying an RX100 in the near future, and ideally be carrying it with me 24/7. It'll definitely be used for street shooting. I'm looking forward to it. Thanks.
