    Good morning Rico,
From sunny (and HOT Northern California)!

I just yesterday received a new Fujifilm 60mm macro!
The lens came with a "firmware update kit and manual".
Following the installation instructions I discovered that I had already installed the
body firmware included on the installation SD card when I received the XE-1 and 18-55 lens
(per your instructions on the Fuji Rumors Site).
So, XE-1 body updated to Firmware 1.04.
Fujifilm USA shows that there is an update for the 60mm lens,
but it mentions it only in the context of the XPro-1 body...
Do I install this on my XE-1 to use my new lens?
Inquiring minds are confused (seemingly a normal state in Fuji-Land I'm finding-
the manuals and website are really awful!)
    Thanks!

Btw, I have the ebook version of your book, trying to figure out which parts apply to the XE-1 (I know you said 90% in an earlier post but I'm struggling a bit... too literal I'm afraid!)

Guess it depends where in one enters the Fuji USA site!
    Anyhow, I down-loaded the 2.01 firmware update
and successfully transferred it to the XE-1!
Now if I can find the time to shoot!
Looking forward to using the new lens!

You can of course apply lens updates with any Fuji X Mount camera. The lens must be connected for the update, that's all.

Do the menus and settings correspond between the two bodies?
As I read the book the primary difference between the XPro1 and the XE-1 is the viewfinder system?
If that is the case, can one use the book as written to set-up and use an XE-1?
    Thanks!!

Yep, you can use pretty much everything except for OVF references. And don't forget to read my X-Pert-Corner columns with updated or expanded information on various topics, like firmware updates.

    You are the Master, Obi-Wan...

Seriously though, I read your posts every Friday,
and have book-marked most of them!
Coming from Canon, the transition to Fuji is challenging!
Modern DSLR's make shooting too easy, with the bulk of the effort taking place in PP.
The XE-1 takes me way back, to when Photography was fun!

    Many thanks for your support!

I agree, and like every Fuji user, I am on a photographic journey myself, discovering new things and enhancing my own views on various aspects. Never make the mistake to think that you "know how to do something once and for all" or that you have an "established process that is perfect, period". So I try to keep an open mind.

    Rico,
With all of the new fw updates, bodies and lenses, as well as the book update, are you going to be able to continue X-Pert Corner? Inquiring minds need to know!
