I recently got my X70. I think I have got my head around the custom settings menu but can someone clarify whether my logic is correct. For ease of explanation, these are my Custom settings. C1 - Currently set to factory defaults - standard film, all settings at zero. C2 - Adjusted a few areas and likely to be treated as 'My' defaults. 1. When I hit the 'Q' menu button I see 'BASE' as the current custom setting. But this is simply what the camera is currently set at, and not actually a Base or factory default setting, correct? 2. In the Q Menu, If I select C2 then all relevant settings are adjusted to suit those saved in my C2 Custom Setting. I then hit MENU or Q buttons or half depress the shutter to exit using those settings and start shooting. 3. The Custom settings are not really a mode - like a custom version of full auto. They are simply a way of quickly adjusting the cameras current settings - which then stay as current settings, even when you have taken the next picture, and even when you have turned the camera off and back on again. In summary, the Custom Settings are not a 'Mode' that you stay in. They are a 'quick fill' for a pre-defined group of settings that remain (even after a picture is taken, even after the camera is turned off) until such time as they are changed again. So, if using a more 'out there' custom setting I have to be careful next time I use the camera that those setting are either the ones I need or I should select my C1 'default' settings. Does that sound about right? I have to say I am loving the move to Fujifilm so far. It had never been on my radar before.
