On one of the other forums for X-Fuji cameras, a member updated his camera firmware via a Chinese web site which offered the delayed firmware — the official updates are out now from Fuji — and I warned about not trusting this way to get updated. Well, here's a report warning against doing this :

Now, here's a link to some good advice on how to update safely : http://www.fujirumors.com/tips-for-updating-your-firmware/
    Hope this helps.

Thnx......Macjim. There always seems to be a rush to grab the new firmware, and I have been burned before (same as upgrades to new OS's).

I have settled in to the if it ain't broke don't fix it category.......but thanks for the alert.

It is always worth having patience and waiting for "official update releases" as some have ended up "Dead" cameras and Fuji will charge to fix the problem.

On a personal note I am hoping with the announcement of the X100s we have not seen the last firmware update for the X100.
