I have used the Fuji x100 for the past two months and while it has a learning curve longer than other cameras it has been fun to grow with.
The quality of the image, shadow detail and color are a delight.
With the reduction in price to $850.00 +/- it is a good value for the patient photographer.

I totally agree, the X100 is not a buy & go camera, it does require thought and practice to get the best out of it but that investment is worth the effort as the results can be astonishing.

I love the tactile controls that encourage strong interaction from the user rather than "auto everything" - now is a good time to buy as prices are falling fast.

Prices should go even lower when the X100S is out! It is one of my all time favorite cameras for sure.

+1 on the controls, it's great to have a real shutter speed dial and aperture ring on the lens again. That said, I still shoot on Aperture priority most of the time, so am happy for the EV compensation dial!.
