Do I turn the OIS off when the camera is on a tripod? I know it's recommended for my Canon's, and assume it's the same here as OIS on a tripod actually degrades the imageā€¦ i think?

    thanks

Vibration should be no issue on a tripod anyway.

So when in doubt about IS on a tripod... Get a better tripod!!

i think the more solid/stable the tripod, the more the ois system detects its own vibrations whereas when a person holds it, the vibrations are lost as our bodies absorb and dampen it.

i've known of canon ois systems being damaged because of it being left on whilst mounted to a tripod.
