My wife and I were out at the lakes yesterday and I wanted to shoot some images of her.

I took the XT2 + 56mm APD and the Fuji EF-X500 flash unit and we went out to the country for a walk and to do some more daylight flash photos, it was a cold but bright day and the fresh air was perfect to clear the remnants of colds and enjoy a photo session at the same time.

The EF-X500 is superb and automatically operates in high speed sync mode when needed delivering great results.

These were all shot at 200 ISO, manual mode f1.2 and adjusting the shutter to allow the background to be underexposed yet the flash illuminating the subject correctly.

    I am happy!

I've read a lot of moans about the EF-X500 flash unit but you obviously have it nailed!

Thanks All, certainly no complaints on my part about the EF-X500 it does what it says on the box and in spades - yes it would be nice to have a built in radio trigger/receiver but apart from that it delivers and is very well made.

    Ian,

Nicely done. I like the "pop" of the red hand warmers.

Thanks Dean, my wife loves red and always manages to get some red in her photos - it always help "lift" a photo as well.

Thanks Bernie, the HSS is superb and automatically works - loving it and with the diffuser that comes with it (Stofen equivalent) there are no harsh shadows, contrasty areas.

Thank you Paul, I am very lucky to have a wife who is relaxed in front of the camera, happy to be photographed and looks pretty good.
