Really enjoy these airport shots you do. Those planes look massive! What are they called?
C-130 Hercules, the workhorse of our local Air National Guard.
Just noticed is that an Osprey or a drone?
That is an Osprey.
I was going to say ... is it bad that my brain went "oh a drone" before I scrolled down, saw the C-130s, was was like "no, stupid, that's an Osprey."
I think that once the drones get as large as those Osprey's the world will REALLY be in a bad place
Drones are already as large as an Osprey. Fortunately, there are only a few places that have them and can afford the infrastructure to run them. Otherwise I would never take another commercial flight every agin.
Nice! Thanks for letting me know. I want to look at some pictures of them up close
I had the same reaction as Mike when I first saw the image, only when you pointed out it is an Osprey did I look closer - perspective strikes again and I did think it was unusual to see a civilian drone over/close to a military airfield. Great shot though.
Thanks Ian. Ours is actually a civilian commercial airport with a National Guard base co-located. Those folks fly a lot and provide a lot of valuable service to the area.
I had the great pleasure to hang out the back of a C-130, photographing the last Buccaneer flight.
