Ruth had a son who took off and she didn't hear from him for years. Finally, after much prayer, he has returned and been in contact with his mother again. Even when she had no news of him for years, she never gave up on him.

Ruth is in a nursing home with severe and crippling arthritis -- particular in her knees and she is in a wheelchair these days.

Ruth voluntarily sat for this portrait and gave me permission to tell her story. I see Ruth at a nursing home where I am a part time chaplain.

Touching story John... I'm glad her faith was justified eventually.

Nice story, nice picture. Waiting requires a large dose of Spirit. Glad you were there to listen.

John Griggs, I recognize and appreciate the effort for you to expertly,
Capture Ruth's character and portray her with dignity.

    Thank you, Gary!

Dignity is a good word to use where she's concerned. She's had it hard and come through it with an essential dignity that if I've captured, I'm thrilled.
