I bought an X-M1 body used for $450 to be my "second body". I might use it for urbex where the risk is high as well since basically it can be the "throw away" body so-to-speak. Not as pricey to replace as the X-E1 for instance.

    My Fujifilm decline continues... lol

Oh, and over on Mu-43 I have a pair of used Olympus flashes for sale if anyone needs one.

John, it's a pity I don't use flash, otherwise I would be tempted to buy one from you in the hope that some of your mojo would be transferred to me :)

Congratulations, John. Let us know how the X-M1 works out - especially how the rear LCD works in sunlight.

Nice! Do you simply have a Fuji catalog you're paging through with a sharpie and 'x'-ing things out one at a time as you acquire them? I'd venture to guess that at the rate you're going you'll have marked up the entire catalog by the start of October!

Moi? No, I have the early X100 and the X10 and now the "James Bond" XF1. I will probably will my X10 to my daughter. The X10 is excellent - no complaints from me but I wanted a more truly pocketable camera. I've only taken a couple o' pix.

Or perhaps you were speaking to John?:wink_old:

    Ha ha!!! See below!

Why yes, that's it exactly! And for every "X" I put in the catalog, I put another negative number on my balance sheet.

It's gotten so bad that I -- GASP! -- am taking on a wedding to help pay for the deficit in all this, lol. I quit doing weddings. Sure I did. Until I need the bread, lol.

I'll be shooting the X-M1 with the 18-55, the 14mm, or the 35mm -- the X-E1 will wear the 55-200 exclusively. I have sling straps for two cams and I'll have the X100S hung around my neck tourist style for quick low light shots when the zooms are on the "big cams".

Having nothing but X-Trans will simplify post processing.

I've looked at your inventory and I did not see,
A XP1, which would bring you much glee.

    It would, you are right
    I must truly concede
    That the X-Pro1
    Is best of the breed

But the price of just one
Gets me two of the other
    With a used X-M1
    And its X-E1 brother

    lol

Nice... I toyed with the idea of picking up an X-A1 or X-M1 with the kit lens to give me a Fuji with a tilt screen and the 16-50 zoom if I wanted it. I mean, they're practically giving away the kit zoom at current prices.

I'm curious to see how you like it. I like some of the features but the lack of a viewfinder is an obstacle for me.

I often don't use the viewfinder on a tripod anyway, and the tilt screen is a win there in some situations when I'm doing urbex. I didn't get the lens, just the body so I don't know how the 16-50 would be and I'll be using it with the 18-55 where I would have used the kit lens. For doing the wide zoom shots at the wedding, the screen will be fine and I'll have the X-E1's viewfinder for the tele shots.

I'll probably now do my "Fuji X Review" on my blog and talk about all 3 cams after the wedding next month. Between urbex, wedding and so forth I'll have enough experience to comment overall on the X-E1, X-M1 and the X100S.

Sounds good, looking forward to it.

I do use the screen quite a bit, and with wide angles (especially ultrawide) I find a tilt/swivel screen really useful. It's the mid to telephoto range where I would miss the viewfinder. And you're right, landscapes it wouldn't be a problem at all. In fact, the tilt screen would probably be easier to see in many cases. Maybe there's room for an X-A1/X-M1 in my kit someday after all :)

Ha ha! Over on Serious Compacts the Fujifilm XF1 was suddenly getting a lot of love and more than a few folks bought one as a result.
