And that would be me, lol. A new urbex photographer buddy asked me to introduce him to a site I know and so I did. I've photographed it ad-nauseum but I took some anyway. Here's what I did get.

Great set as always John! Hope your friend enjoyed the experience. Whatever happens to these places eventually? Demolished? Or just linger and linger? I'm curious to hear more about the history of these places.

The colors, lighting, details, image quality and very real sense of place in these photos are all really wonderful, John! Your second and third are my personal favorites..beauty and decay...once proud places... There is so much power and poignancy in a place like this to my eyes, through your photos. I bet your friend really enjoyed his "tour".

John has very kindly agree that we can make this be our "sticky" for Urbex photographs - so if other members feel like adding their images here and keeping this thread going, please do. Many thanks John for starting us off!

For some background here's an overview of Urbex - also known as urban exploration from Wikipedia:

My pleasure. If you're into this genre but haven't posted it on Fuji X-Spot, now's the time. I've had some wonderful feedback here so there is an "audience" for it on this forum.

    Bring on the decay! :)

Yes, bring on the decay!! Now I feel as though I have to go find some...mine will have to be rural decay, however.

This is about as close to Urbex as I've gotten in quite a while - with the FujiX10:

Love the set. Great colors and detail.

I have only been to one abandoned building since switching to Fuji. Hoping to get to more soon. If you don't mind, what are your preferred lenses for urbex on the Fuji system? I have my people lenses figured out, but not for urbex.

The fun stops when you have to live with indescribable decay all your life, like this little fella who's collecting drinking water from a broken pipe. While I was living there thousands of people died from drinking poisonous water just 50 miles downhill. As usual the international press didn't take any notice. I've got tons more, including stuff that nobody really wants to look at.

Yes, "the fun stops" - your understatement hits home along with the forthright eyes and face of this innocent.

Well, here's some from a place where nobody is dying.

Went back to "Embersville" which was a large state hospital and wandered the underground utility, steam, and staff tunnels to see what I could find. More documentary than art mostly, but it was a fun thing to do on a rainy day. It ALWAYS rains when I visit this place, I kid you not.

Everything with the Fuji X-E2 with the 23mm Fujinon, or the X-M1 with the 12mm Zeiss.
