I normally do light touch ups on GIMP, I never owned Photoshop or anything like that. I do wonder and have a few questions about this software though...

What is the "ideal" way to touch up and retouch photos before printing using GIMP?
Is there are certain setting or process for this particular software?
And is there anything like it but better that is still freeware?

I only started using it because I use it for drawing and digital art. The stock software my first camera came with it, well, quite frankly is pathetic LOL

Just starting to use GIMP myself so can't help you, however, a good book is GIMP 2.6 for Photographers by Klaus Goelker. I bought it on Amazon (used) for basically the cost of shipping. I think he bookstore wanted to get rid o it at any cost.

I will check this out, thanks! I have been messing around on it more since posting this and have learned a bit from Youtube but this book may actually be useful!
