It's not often that you find folks who are allowed to wantonly post their impressions on public property here. Every so often Singapore (Antisepticopolis) believes that it must project an image of being more liberal, of promoting urban art, of embracing grit and popular angst. So it was that after months of aimless wandering and many hours of applying filters to provide some soul to my ham-boiled images, I came across - O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay! - 4 young men that were having a blast, literally, at the expense of the state in a skater's park. I do not know what prompted me to carry my X70 in my pocket yesterday but have it I did and, in a flash, out it came. For the first time I really thanked Fuji for providing both a tiltable touchscreen and a camera small enough to cradle in the palm of my hand and I bent, squatted and stood on tip-toe to frame my shots.

    DSCF4027. DSCF4045. DSCF4029.

Great series, Ateesh. So do I understand you correctly that this is made legal on an intermittent basis?

That's right. I asked the guys if they did this often and they mentioned that they did paint walls a few times a year "when they were given permission to".

By way of reference there is a Speaker's Corner here (akin to the one in Hyde Park) with this difference: that you must apply for permission to speak in advance, must submit your topic and content for screening in advance and must keep to the allotted time allowed to you at the time that permission was granted.

    :) So there.
