Viewfinder & eye sensor cup or similar?

The single most frustrating thing about using the X100 is the position of the eye sensor, which if exposed to strong back light, turns off the EVF and the OVF overlays. I like to shoot in low-angle light, often with sun to my back. My eye doesn't cover all of the viewfinder and sensor array to prevent the sunlight from hitting the sensor. Has anyone found a fix or workaround for this? Thanks.
