I understand that XC lenses do not have an aperture ring. Suppose I mount such a lens on my X-E1, and want to shoot on Aperture Priority, how then do I set my Aperture ?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Fyi, I'm still hesitating between the XF 55-200 and the XC 50-230. There is certainly no doubt that the 55-200 IQ is far better, but I also consider the price and the weight.

Simples. Aperture is controlled by the rear thumbwheel. I do prefer aperture rings, but it works.

Let me make sure I got it right : shutter speed dial is on A. Without any other action I will be on full automatic (ie P equivalent). If I want to select an aperture, then I just need to use the rear thumbweel. Am I right ?
Thanks a lot for your help.

Yes, though for P you'd need to use the rear thumb wheel to move the aperture to the A setting, just like the aperture ring. The camera operates identically, but the aperture ring simply 'moves' to the thumb wheel.
